Summary
In the novel Kendra by Coe Booth the exposition begins to rise to the climax. The climax is beginning to get extreme within the family. Being only fourteen Kendra trys to become independent by being apart of a stage crew at her school. With so much support she begins to get a little trust from her grandmother to actually participate. Its only when Kendra tries to get her mother involved in her life for once. For Kendra having her mother come to her last showcase was very important to her because she wants her to be involved in her life but things don't go as planned. With the idea that her mother does not care she begins to get involved with a boy named Nashawn which is not a good thing when she begins to do the things that she was told never to do being so young. Slipping her mind all the rules she was given all she begins to search for the one thing which is love.
Quote
"And I'm kissing him back, too. It don't matter that i don't really know what I'm doing. I'm just going with it" (Booth 97).
Reaction
At this point in the story Kendra is making out with Nashawn; a boy she hardly knows and it show he innocence and her yearn for someone to love her. When reading this part in the novel i felt that Kendra tries hard everyday for someone to love her and no one ever does. So by Kendra making out with Nashawn it gives her a message that someone may love. This shows me that some girls have it hard and they look for love in all the wrong places.
